Correlations:

* One trend that we noticed was that the sales figures of the Kingdom Hearts games pretty much reflected the games that Century College students had played. Obviously the original game outperforming the rest of them.

* Also in regards to sales figures, showing that those who have played have mostly done so on the PS2 and not purchased or played the hand held games.

* Although Final Fantasy has been around for 25 years (this year), most of the people we had questioned have either heard or played Kingdom Hearts  (celebrating 10 year anniversary) or familiar with it than the game that basically gave Kingdom Hearts its framework.

* One question we also had in the back of our minds when coming up with the survey was if participants had a minor in the household, whether or not that had a correlation with people's familiarity with the Disney franchise, had an impact on if they had heard or played Kingdom Hearts. It didn't seem to have an impact, since most participating in the survey did not have a younger sister/brother in their household. Which we can reasonably assume that the player had been familiar with the Disney franchise and found

Kingdom Hearts by themselves, where their familiarity questions displays and can back that correlation up. 

* Correlation between age and hearing/playing Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy: Out of the 139 people surveyed we found that 35 Century College Students in the age category 19-23 were the highest age category that heard/played both Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.

* Most of the males that we surveyed had heard about/played both Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy.

* We asked participants if they were employed to see if their was maybe a reason why they did not purchase the games on other consoles and the results showed that: Their was slight correlation.  Most Century College Students that we surveyed that are employed had 1-2 consoles (49 Students).  While 21 Students had 3-4 consoles. 

* Another correlation that we were able to make by asking surveyors on what consoles they had and if they had played Kingdom Hearts, more than half had said that they had played the game on their specified consoles.

 * Theorizing: We believe that Kingdom Hearts is our generations equivalent to Final Fantasy, (in regards to sales no) but in regards as familiarity yes, and maybe if Disney and Square Enix is able to appeal to more Final Fantasy players (incorporating more of the storyline or if characters played a more major role), their player-base will grow substantially.

  *Also theorizing: The usage of familiar Disney characters and story lines was more of an attempt to appeal more western players to play role playing games. (Compare sales figures from North America to Japan sales of the games of the Kingdom Hearts franchise).

 

Potential Issues With Our Survey

- There are several issues that probably occurred while conducting our survey and accessing the results:

1. We could have surveyed a person more than once, thus lessening the sample size.

2. Those participating in the survey could have lied about demographics and other questions: what games they played/consoles they owned, etc...

3. Individuals could not elaborate on their answers (desire).

4. Sampling was not as diversified as it could have been: in regards to age, gaming background/experience, familiarity to Final Fantasy.

5. Abstract overview of the person being interviewed (opinions on handheld versions of the game, which aspect of Kingdom Hearts they liked)

6. We had to withdraw some surveys if they were incomplete, that or if it was not clear what their answers were.

7. We had limited choices in which users could specify which gaming consoles that they owned.

8. The familiarity of the Disney franchise could have been better defined and the question could have been worded more clearly. Should have been clearer in explaining if surveyors knew about how Disney had owned Tron, Marvel movies, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.
